Cabins
Cabins in the heart of Hardanger
At Vassel gård, you stay close to nature with views of the beautiful Lake Herandsvatnet and easy access to Hardanger’s iconic experiences. We offer a varied selection of cabins, both with and without private bathrooms, all featuring private verandas, peaceful surroundings, and convenient parking nearby. The cabins come in various sizes and are just as suitable for couples seeking a relaxing break as they are for families and friends on a trip.
Comfortable Family Cabins
Our three family cabins for 4–6 people are located away from the main camping area and feature a spacious terrace overlooking the lake. Here, you can enjoy your morning coffee in peaceful surroundings and watch the changing light over the mountains and water.
The cabins feature a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Two of the cabins sleep six people across two bedrooms with bunk beds, while one cabin sleeps four, featuring a double bed in one room and a bunk bed in the other. Bed linen and towels are always included. Please note that for hygiene reasons, personal bed linen and sleeping bags are not permitted.
Note: Dogs are not allowed in these cabins.
Charming Camping Cabins (Shared Facilities)
For those seeking an affordable and practical option, we offer five camping cabins for up to four people. These small, cozy cabins are tucked away on the grounds and feature a private veranda with plenty of space to relax after the day’s hikes.
The camping cabins do not have running water or a private bathroom but are located close to a sanitary facility with toilets, sinks, and showers. The cabins have a kitchenette and small seating areas. The layout varies between two bedrooms with bunk beds, or one bunk bed in a bedroom and one in an alcove in the living room. Bed linen and towels are included.
Dogs are allowed in these cabins for an additional fee.
Gamlestova – Charm and History
For a more authentic and traditional experience, you can choose Gamlestova, the old farmhouse from 1846. The cabin is suitable for two people and features a cozy living room with timber walls, a kitchen with a small stove, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a double bed. From the living room, you have a beautiful view of Lake Herandsvatnet, and a small veranda awaits outside where you can enjoy the silence and the historic atmosphere.
Bed linen and towels are included here as well.
Dogs are not allowed.
